About Smadi
Smadi is a multilingual streaming platform serving diaspora and Global South audiences across five regions: the Caribbean, Francophone Africa, Lusophone Africa and Brazil, the Middle East and North Africa, and United States diaspora communities.
Founded in 2026 and operated from Lisbon, Portugal, Smadi is registered in Georgia, United States. The platform supports features, shorts, documentaries, series, podcasts, music videos, and vertical-format content, with a three-tier access model spanning advertising-supported viewing, subscription, and premium Smadi Select titles.
Smadi differentiates on contextual-only advertising (no behavioral tracking), EU data residency, a creator-first revenue model, and a cultural commitment to stories and languages historically underrepresented in mainstream streaming.
